Nicholas and Pedialite

Hi all,

So been an interesting week.......Thomas, Nicholas and Ryan heading to Osyoos on Thursday last week to hang out and camp with the Maass family for a few days. Tom and Nick headed home on Sunday and Ryan is still up there with Ting and Roy to finish off camping for the week.

Sunday night was nice.....Nicholas was so tired and headed to be around 7 so gave Tom and I some alone time to watch a movie and be in bed by 9:30pm :)

Monday was good....went to work.......Tom had to work afternoons do dropping Nicholas off with Auntie Jolene, Uncle Dave and FAV cousin Ella. I picked him up after work and honestally he was just passing out in Jolene's arms at 5 pm.......he was burning up and I guess this had all started just before nap time on Monday. To Nicholas and I went home and unpacked and i put him down on the floor to watch me make dinner. Nicholas just layed on the floor and watched me, not his normal self......so I took his temperature and it read 102.4. Okay so he has a fever....so we ate a light dinner, and then went to play in the front room......then we had a bath......we were all bathed and pjd by 7 and cuddling on the couch..........i went and took this opportunity to do the dishes and honestally by the time i was back Nicholas was passed out on the couch..........so i put him up in bed and all was fine........well every 1.5 hours he woke up just crying like he was in pain.....so i gave him more tylenol and checked the temperature and he was 103.9...........i figured i would do the standard at home treatment for fever and nothing would work........

I let this night go by and then next morning his temperature stayed around 99-100. We figured it was a quick fever and done........so tuesday night once again he was up every few hours just crying........

Wednesday he woke up a little out of it......he feel back to sleep with Tom in our bed and so cute to watch them sleep there while i heading off to the office! We kept him home from daycare and him and Tom hung out. The fever started up again, and he was crabby. Always wants to be held.....so finally last night after another fun day/night....we made the call to take him in to the hospital......we got there about 10:30 pm. They took his temperature (normal), and his blood pressure with the finger thingy (normal) and then talked about dehydration. That thought had crossed my mind with the not eating or drinking much.........so they put him in the kids room about 11, and then put a little bag thingy tapped to his .......... you know ....... to catch the pee to test for this..........he had to drink from a syring for the next hour......pedialite........finally after about 30 minutes of taking this drink every 5 minutes, he was back to old Nicholas........talking and running around the room...........finally we were released at about 2, with a he is doing good....keep him drinking rule..............got home and went to bed......

So the point of this writing is to tell all parents out there......if your kid is crabby with a cold/flu and you aren't sure what is wrong....honestally try this PEDIALITE.....i totally recommend it.......it helped Nicholas get some fluids and honestally results were quick......to go from what we saw only moments before the decision to get him checked and last night at 2 am.....totally worth it...........

Okay going to go and work now........ :)
